wen Grimutants?

Now that Quarter One of the 2022 Calendar Year is officially over, we wanted to provide some insight into what Quarter Two will bring for The Past Project (TPP or $PAST). We conclude this post with words from the CEO.

Items outlined below are subject to change based on market conditions and team strategy. Quotations represent direct comments from The Past Project team members.

The Past Project’s Genesis NFT Collection

There have been a lot of questions from the community about ‘wen Grimutants?’ Well as of March 30, 2022 the official answer is unfortunately; never. TPP leadership held extensive discussions with the design team in the week leading up to the 30th about how to mold the Grimutants Genesis Collection (GGC) to fit the new design aesthetic of the project. After numerous attempts at adjusting the properties of the NFTs, the final verdict was to switch gears and focus on a collection that properly represented TPP.

“Discontinuing the collection was a difficult decision, but so was trying to force GGC into our design approach. Although we appreciate the meme value of Grimutants, the collection didn’t feel like a cohesive dynamic of the $PAST ecosystem. The art and style of the NFTs is such a stark contrast to the new design direction we have taken. We want to ensure our genesis collection properly represents the brand.”

The new collection that TPP is developing is entitled “Gems of the Past” and is an absolutely stunning, artistic approach to generative art. It will be a collection that shows an appreciation for history while having a unique classification for trait rarity within the NFTs. Most importantly, the design team for TPP will have direct control over the design of this collection. “It will meet the quality standards that have been established for this project. We are confident that our community will rally around this new artistic direction!”

Below are a few items to be aware of with the transition to Gems of the Past:

There will be 3,333 Gems of the Past NFTs on the Ethereum Blockchain

• Completely new contract being developed for this collection
• All revenue will go to the same multi-signature protected wallets for the $PAST token ecosystem

Two websites are being developed for this collection

• One will showcase the collection and conceptual designs
• One will contain the staking DApp

Everyone who minted a Grimutant will receive a 2 for 1 airdrop of the new collection

• This will effectively double your NFT holdings for TPP
• The goal is to reward early supporters of the project
• Those who sent in 500M+ $GRIM tokens will still be rewarded with an airdropped Gems of the Past NFT

There will be 11 types of Gem traits that will determine a ‘Set’ within the collection

• Sets of 3, 5, 7 and 11 Gems will still be the benchmark for staking the NFTs
• This means you will need that many NFTs with different Gem traits to complete ‘a set’ for staking purposes

Staking will go live in mid-April. Although the NFTs will not be revealed by then, you will still be able to stake the ‘temporary’ NFTs that get airdropped to receive $PAST rewards

• There will be identifiers on the temporary NFT silhouettes allowing you to determine which Gem trait it has
• Gems of the Past reveal is scheduled for no later than 30 April, 2022

Staking Your $PAST

In addition to staking your Gems of the Past, you will be able to stake the native $PAST token. The introductory return will be a 24% APY (or 2% yield per month). Rewards are paid in $PAST tokens and there is no deposit or withdrawal tax associated with this staking contract. You can also cancel your staking at any point with zero cancellation penalties. The perk for staking your $PAST is that you can earn a Gems of the Past NFT for every 30 consecutive days of staking more than one billion tokens. This promotion will last until all NFTs designated as staking rewards are paid out (that number has yet to be determined).

Marketing Strategy

We have officially partnered with a cryptocurrency focused marketing team to assist with spreading the word about The Past Project. We will have focused advertisements and well placed TPP assets on the biggest websites and information outlets in the crypto space. We are estimating over ten million impressions over the first month of this partnership! Our design team is currently working with the marketing team to produce and deliver the best design elements that represent our brand through these avenues. We anticipate this partnership will go live within the next week. We timed this so that it could overlap with CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko Listings, however those listings will not be showstoppers any longer, as we have decided it is best to move forward regardless of listing status.
